Twice a year the church’s World Service Committee hosts blood drives.
All are invited to the Forest Hills Community House on Borage Place to donate blood.
Most of the blood supplied for the Greater New York area comes from outside the region. Surprisingly hospitals in Queens and Long Island alone require about 800 pints a day.
Donating blood is safe and sterile. The only thing you can contract is the warm feeling that you get from helping save lives.
