What the Bible Does and Doesn’t Say about Open and Affirming
This bible study and fellowship series is an important next step following our Town Hall Meeting of April 30 as we discern becoming an Open and Affirming congregation. It should be fun and informative and will be all the more so with your input and participation.
The Bible is our primary text. If you do not have a bible readily available let Rev. Fred know. And as you’re able, please bring a bible (online or paper) with you to the bible study. We will also be using the book, Unclobber: Rethinking Our Misuse of the Bible On Homosexuality (WJKP 2022), by Colby Martin (a pastor). Due to the generosity of an anonymous donor, the church is able to provide a free copy of Unclobber to participants.
1) Mark your calendars and participate in this bible study and fellowship series;
2) Contact the church office to register your intent (that will help us with coffee and donuts and room set-up) AND to get your free copy of Unclobber (718-268-6704; ) or Rev. Fred ( ).
*Note: we are hoping to record the series and make it available on request. Please let us know if you are unable to attend and would like a book and to have access to a recording of the series. Rev. Fred will also do his best to schedule one-on-ones or group sessions with those watching the recording to provide opportunity for discussion and fellowship.
