In 2020, the Church-in-the-Gardens hosted a highly successful Volunteer Fair in the Community House gymnasium. It connected 250 potential volunteers, eager to serve others, with over 20 organizations dedicated to the same goal. The result: We helped generate commitments for many hours of service to improve the lives of people in our neighborhoods. While the full impact of our efforts were muted by the pandemic shutdown shortly afterwards, the potential power of the event were obvious.
Imagine the impact.
Today, the problems and needs of the world and our neighborhoods remain. In response, , the World Service Committee will reprise that powerful event by hosting Volunteer Fair 2025. The date of the event is Sunday, September 21. More details to come.
BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Do you know any potential volunteers: anyone who may be seeking an opportunity to help others? Reach out to them.
Do you know any Non-Profit Organizations looking for additional help to complete their missions? Reach out to them.
This marvelous quote from Anne Frank remains the theme for this Volunteer Fair as it was for the first:
“How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.”
We created that moment five years ago. Let’s go do it again.
