Musica Reginae to Host an Afternoon of Chamber Music

All are welcome!

Musica Reginae to Host Community Concert for Kids- Let's Compose Some Music!-What creative choices go into composing music? On Saturday, January 19th at 11 am, come to the concert at The Church-in-the-Gardens and join the Musica Reginae players in an interactive workshop where you will make creative choices and learn more about composing music. We will explore how composers incorporate different instruments into their work and learn more about the history of composing. This event for children (ages 4 & up) and their families will involve participating throughout the program. The workshop is free and will last about an hour in length.

Join Musica Reginae for an exploration of 21st century Romanticism with lyrical, soaring melodies, technical virtuosity and beautiful sonorities. This program includes rarely heard, romantically-inspired compositions, such as Rebecca Clarke’s Sonata for Viola and Piano, Igor Stravinsky’s Elegy, Penderecki’s Cadenza for Viola and the world premiere performance of Gilbert Galindo’s Sonata for Viola and Piano performed by Liuh-Wen Ting (viola) and Barbara Podgurski (piano). The perform-ance will take place on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 2 pm in the Sanctuary. Tickets: $20/Adult, $10/Student and are available at the door, at www.MusicaReginae.org, or by calling (718) 894-2178.

Musica Reginae Productions (MRP) was formed in 2000 in order to expand the availability of classical music for the residents of Queens in their home borough—to build community and the audience for classical and other fine music in Queens.
