Con Brio Ensemble to Present a Twilight Concert
Con Brio Ensemble will present a concert of Romantic works by Brahms, Lazlo Weiner, and Hans Gal and a Baroque quintet by Telemann.
On Sunday, September 17, at 4:30 pm at The Church-in-the-Gardens, the Con Brio Ensemble will present a concert of Romantic works by Brahms, Lazlo Weiner, and Hans Gal and a Baroque quintet by Telemann. The first in the ensemble’s annual three-concert subscription series the performers will be critically acclaimed violinist Anton Miller; violist, Rita Porfiris; cellist, Hamilton Berry; oboist, Alan Hollander; and pianist, Diana Mittler-Battipaglia. On the program are Brahms- Piano Quartet in C minor opus 60 , Hans Gal's Trio for Oboe, Cello and Piano, and the Duo for Violin and Viola by the Hungarian composer Lazlo Weiner, and it will begin with a quintet by the Baroque composer, Georg Telemann.
Anton Miller and Rita Porfiris are Professors of Violin and Viola at the Hartt College of Music and NYU; Hamilton Berry is an alumnus of the Juilliard School; Diana Mittler-Battipaglia and Alan Hollander are Professors of Music at Lehman College-CUNY.
This concert is made possible in part by the Queens Council on the Arts with public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council. Celebrating its 39th season, the Con Brio Ensemble performs annual series in Queens and Manhattan and is currently in residence at Lehman College-CUNY in the Bronx. Admission to the concert will be $12.00 / $10.00 students and seniors.
